9,736 PointsObject-Oriented Code Challenge @classmethod.
As the instructions suggested, I created the class method but I'm not sure if my code is not getting me the correct outputs. I checked for misspellings and I can't find any. Please help.
class Letter:
def __init__(self, pattern=None):
self.pattern = pattern
def __iter__(self):
yield from self.pattern
def __str__(self):
output = []
for blip in self:
if blip == '.':
output.append('dot')
else:
output.append('dash')
return '-'.join(output)
@classmethod
def from_string(cls, string):
new_list = []
my_list = string.split("-")
for item in my_list:
if item == 'dot':
new_list.append('.')
elif item == "dash":
new_list.append("-")
return cls(patternList)
class S(Letter):
def __init__(self):
pattern = ['.', '.', '.']
super().__init__(pattern)

54,971 PointsIn the instructions:
creates an instance with the correct pattern (['_', '.']).
that is an underscore not a hyphen. So you would want:
new_list.append("_")
Then you should return cls(new_list). patternList is not defined.

keep on saying no method from_string defined
