Python Basic Object-Oriented Python Welcome to OOP Adding to our Panda

Please can someone help me how to add the name 'Bao Bao' to the return?

class Panda: species = 'Ailuropoda melanoleuca' food = 'bamboo' name = 'Bao Bao'

def __init__(self, name, age):
    self.is_hungry = True
    self.name = name
    self.age = age

def eat(self):
    self.name = 'Bao Bao'
    self.is_hungry = False
    return f*'{self.name} eats {food}.'
panda.py
class Panda:
    species = 'Ailuropoda melanoleuca'
    food = 'bamboo'
    name = 'Bao Bao'

    def __init__(self, name, age):
        self.is_hungry = True
        self.name = name
        self.age = age

    def eat(self):
        self.name = 'Bao Bao'
        self.is_hungry = False
        return f*'{self.name} eats {food}.'

Hi Federico,

Take out the star (*) in your f-string return, it's stopping Python from interpolating values into the string.

The class instance already has values for food, name and species bound to 'self' so you can retrieve them in your method using self.food, self.name and self.species respectively - you don't need to declare self.name = 'Bao Bao' again, and {food} should be {self.food}. Other than that you've got it!

class Panda:
    species = 'Ailuropoda melanoleuca'
    food = 'bamboo'

    def __init__(self, name, age):
        self.is_hungry = True
        self.name = name
        self.age = age

    def eat(self):
        self.is_hungry = False
        return f'{self.name} eats {self.food}.'
