Python Developer Tech Degree - course length and degree recognition

Hey dthomas4! Great questions. The Python techdegree is a great jump into python programming. This techdegree is much shorter than the others with only 5 units compared to the 8+ that others have. Since it is shorter it can be completed in as little as 2 to 5 months. This teaches you the fundamentals of programming including creating console-based applications, object-oriented programming, working with databases, and creating web applications. What makes the techdegree so unique and special from other online learning platforms is that we have a community and staff surrounding you and ready to help throughout your whole journey. Once you sign up for the techdegree, you will have the option to join our slack community where you can ask questions, attend office hours, and chat with other folks who are also going through the degree. We have staff monitoring and answering questions 5 days a week, so you will always receive prompt attention if you are stuck. Each unit also has a project in which you turn in to be graded. You will receive feedback on your code that is tailored to each individual's submission. We recognize that one of the most important things when learning to code is having a community. A place where you can ask questions or get clarification. You are also encouraged to help out your peers. When you help others, it helps you understand and comprehend what you have been learning.
