Why wouldn't the querySelector method work? For instance, instead of document.getElementByID('headline'), use document.querySelector('headline') ?

44,806 Pointsdocument.getElementById('headline')
is equivalent to document.querySelector('#headline')
. The #
specifies that 'headline' is an id. document.querySelector('headline')
selects the first element with a <headline>
tag, which is not a standard html tag. If the element with the id 'headline' has an <h1>
tag and is the first h1
element on the page, you could select it using document.querySelector('h1')
.
