racecar.py - Why does this code doesn't work?

What am I missing here?

racecar.py
class RaceCar:

    laps = 0

    def __init__(self, color, fuel_remaining, **kwargs):
        self.color = color
        self.fuel_remaining = fuel_remaining

        for key, value in kwargs.items():
            setattr(self, key, value)

    def run_lap(self, length):
        laps += 1
        fuel_remaining = length * 0.125

Hiya Eric! There are a couple of issues with your code. First off, your "laps" and "fuel_remaining" should be instance variable i.e., replace 'em with "self.laps" and "self.fuel_remaining". Secondly, your "self.fuel_remaining" needs to be "reduced" with the product of "length" and 0.125. I hope it helped. If not, just post back (:

Thanks Ari, can you explain why does it need to be an instance variable?

That is coz everytime your instance , or object instantiated on RaceCar class, access the "run_lap" method , the "laps" attribute needs to be incremented and "fuel_remaining" needs to be reduced by "(length * 0.125)", right? (:

Got it! Ty
