Regular Expression Error: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'group'

I wrote the following function to match and return the first number in a string. It works when I run it on my console and returns <re.Match object; span=(0, 1), match='9'>, but I get an error when I try to submit it. What's wrong and how can I fix it?

def first_number(string):
    return re.match(r'\d', string)
print(first_number("914581"))

re.match only checks if the first character in the string is a match. If your string is "I have 30 points", it'll only check if the first character matches the regex and return None if it doesn't. You want to find the first occurrence of a number in the string.
