self parameter help

Not sure I understand, why, if self is supposed to describe instance, when its used in the .format(self) function, the return is the file name with the class name.

So,

after using the .format() function, we get: "Called by characters.Thief object..."

This makes no mention of the instance.

I second this question! I don't understand this.

I'm pretty sure the "object at 0x7f99....." IS the instance.
