Software Creation

I'm planning on making some software, but am not sure where to start. Does anyone have any suggestion on:

  1. What should I do first (planning-wise)?
  2. What programming language(s) should I learn?

What kind of software do you want to make? "Making some software" is a little bit vague. Are you referring to a Website, an iOS app, an Android app, or something else?

I want to make a 3D software. Something like Poser or Daz Studio. I was thinking something geared towards anime. The software should design the anime (characters, scene, etc.) in 3D and create the official look in 3D. I wanted it to be a WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) software. The main point for the software was for it to be easy and drawing-free; it to have a self-explanatory UI (User Interface).

I was hoping someone could tell me how I should go about the design process and recommend some programming languages that would be necessary to complete such a task.
