JavaScript JavaScript Basics Working with Strings Combine and Manipulate Strings

string concatenation

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong here. I would much appreciate it thanks!

app.js
let firstName = "Carl"  ;
let lastName = "Mclamb" ;
let role = 'developer';
let msg = "firstName +" " + lastname + ": " + role + "." ;

Hey Carl Mclamb,

When you are concatenating you don't have to wrap variable names in quotes and you can remove period at the end.

Here's the final version:

let firstName = "Carl";
let lastName = "Mclamb";
let role = 'developer';
let roleUpCase = role.toUpperCase();

let msg = firstName + " " + lastName + ": " + roleUpCase;

Hope this helps!
