28,558 PointsTo create a variable in Java, you first write the type of variable, then the name, and then (optionally) the value you want the string to hold, like so:
// This creates a variable called 'name' of type String, and sets it to 'Andre'
String name = "Andre";
// This creates a variable called 'number' of type int, and sets it to '10'
int number = 10;
Those two examples should help you understand how to create a variable, creating variables is a very fundamental part of pretty much all programming languages, so it's something you'll get quite use to as you get farther into your programming education.
