Thinking of doing a tech degree. Is full stack javascript right for me?

Recently became a bit more liquid thanks to a raise at work, meaning I can now justify the monthly cost of doing a tech degree. My question though is would doing the full stack javascript degree be my best option. My main interest lies in front end development, BUT I want to have the skills that would enable me to work on the backend as well for future job prospects.

Well haha, which backend language you want to learn? ASP.NET, PHP, Python, Java, RoR... Start with javascript...so you can do your early steps into backend with Node.js This way you can see if you like backend or not

I'm a bit biased because I love (and teach) JavaScript. However, if you are interested in front end, I think the Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree is a good move. That Techdegree includes a lot of front end training, and JavaScript is the language you'll use to build dynamic front end interfaces. I interviewed a newly graduated Techdegree student yesterday. He had chosen the Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree because he knew that JavaScript would be a part of his career even if he ended up at a job where Rails, or ASP.NET were the back-end technology of choice. Having said that, if you have a passion for another language like Python or Java, then those Techdegrees are good too. And you can always take any of Treehouse's courses (not just those required in the Techdegree) so if you want to explore any of these technologies further you can regardless of which Techdegree you choose.
