Thinking to do the Web Development Tech Degree

Hi Everyone one, I hope you guys are doing all good. I just have one quick question to ask. I have finished the Web Design Track and now doing the JavaScript track, and almost done with it. I have been thinking it would be awesome to have the techdegree certificate, something I can show off for. So my question is knowing that I have completed the Web Design track which is mainly Html and Css, also almost done with the JavaScript track. Will I still have to go all the way back to Html Css and JavaScript tracks when i start the techdegree program, Or It will automatically take out those tracks i have completed already. That’s my question and I hope It makes sense.

Alright, thanks everyone and happy coding πŸ€—

Hi AKOUETE PAUL DEKPOH,

The Techdegree program will remember what courses you have completed already and they won't have to be completed again.

And while the certificate is nice to have, what an employer will look at is the projects showing off your actual skills. So I recommend you to work hard on every project and your job hunt will be a short one!

Good luck,

Jonas

Thank you so much Jonas, I appreciate the reply back. And yes you are right, I have been looking for jobs but with no success so far, even though I have few projects to show for it. But i haven’t given up yet. I Will do the techdegree and work hard on those projects like you said.

Thank you.

That sounds like a great plan. You can do this! And whenever you get stuck we will be here to help you, and you will get plenty of support in your Slack channel.

That's because the market is flooded with entry level devs. The real demand is at the mid to senior level, meaning apply for those jobs anyhow and present work that would typically be seen by mid-senior level devs. Also, start getting good at algorithms. More and more they are testing devs on that stuff in order to weed out the bad ones.
