This challenge is confusing.

I want to delete a directory

os.___("/grades/students.json")

Kenneth Love This will raise a NotADirectoryError when os.rmdir is used. Supposed to be "/grades".

Since the question doesn't specify otherwise, we have to assume that "students.json" is an empty directory inside the "grades" directory, and is the one intended for deletion.

In that case the function should succeed.
