Track Web Design vs. Front End Webdevelopment – what's the Difference?

Sure, Front End Webdevelopment includes JavaScript, which isn't included in the Track of Web Design. But what's more to recommend? I have finished the Basics Track so far.

If you only care about making beautiful websites, and you don't care much about JavaScript, Web Design is the right track for you. Web design goes deep into HTML, CSS, color theory, Photoshop, etc.

On the other Hand, Front end Web Development doesn't go as deep into HTML/CSS, and also includes JavaScript (which is awesome!)

I'm currently taking the Full-stack JavaScript track. It goes really deep into the heart of JavaScript. I am not really interested into HTML/CSS, that's why I'm taking this track

Recap:

  • Web Design - Goes deep into HTML/CSS, Color theory, etc. But doesn't teach JS
  • Front end Web Development - Doesn't go too deep into HTML and CSS and also includes JS and Developer Tools courses which is neat
  • Full stack JavaScript - Goes deep into JavaScript and doesn't teach HTML/CSS (however, you should learn basic HTML/CSS before taking this track)

I hope this helps. ~Alex

helped! A lot.

Thanks for the quick answer. I think I'm gonna switch to Frontend Web Development.

However I saw, that the first course within both tracks is the same. Which is quite smart!

Gonna tell you how it was :)
