Using ID twice

Is not using the same ID twice on a page Industry standard? Because I did it just to try it out and the Treehouse Workspace let me.

Hi Cooper,

Unlike classes, you can't use more than one ID for an element. ID is what it suggests. It is a unique identifier for an element, so you can select a single element with a jQuery selector or use a particular element with a CSS selector.

So you can't do 

<a href="#" id="main one">A Link</a>

But you can do 

<a href="#" id=" one">A Link</a>

or

<a href="#" class="main one">A Link</a>
