Java Java Basics Getting Started with Java Strings, Variables, and Formatting

What am I doing wrong?

I am at the third step...

Name.java
// I have setup a java.io.Console object for you named console
String firstName = "Ioana";
console.printf ("%s can code in Java!", firstName);

I think you might need to remove the space after printf and the before the bracket.

Steve.

Yes, it is that. I have seen this before - I'll ask for it to be fixed as either both task 2 & 3 should pass or fail consistently with the space there.

This post refers, for info.

Ok so you are correct, except that you have an extra space after console.printf.

Try this instead ...

console.printf("%s can code in Java!", firstName);
