Just looking at your code I see you are missing a semicolon and with in your printf it should be printing firstName.

What you have:

String firstName="John";
console.printf("String")

what it should be:

String firstName = "John";
console.printf("%s can code in Java!");

%s holds the string variable value.

Thanks guys!

To add to Lucas's answer, you'll also need to include the variable within the parentheses to tell it what to replace the placeholder (%s) in the string with, like this: ("%s can code in Java!", firstName);
