What am I doing wrong in this challenge?

The question says : target the paragraph that is a descendant of the footer element. Add a color property and set the value to slategrey.

here is my code. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong, but it won't allow me to pass the challenge.

.footer p { color: slategrey; }

style.css
/* Complete the challenge by writing CSS below */
.header span {
  font-size: 26px;
}

.main-content p {
  font-weight: bold;
}

.footer p {
  color: slategrey;
}
index.html

Remove the "." from in front of the footer selector in your css. The footer is not a class.

Yes, it looks good to me too.

Check that the question is spelling "grey" the same way you are. Then I'd try retyping the whole thing to see if maybe there is a space somewhere it's not supposed to be.

Sophia,

I don't think you are doing anything wrong either you code looks code, I even went to the challenge and tried it myself, I get the same error message as you.

Karalyn was correct, I tried it again without the "." and it worked. Thank you all for your answers!
