What is the purpose of this course exactly?

Hi, I am taking this course in line with me starting to learn back end. I want to know exactly what its purpose is since it was not mentioned on the first video earlier. I believe so.. Thank you so much for the help!

Hi there,

I'm not sure which course it is you're referring to? Are you following a track? Let us know and we can try and help you further. Thanks :)

No worries. :)

So HTTP Basics is a Dev Tool course and now falls under the Fundamentals category. It just covers the protocol used to send stuff via the internet. So to send information and communicate via networks. It's not code heavy course but it's a course designed to get you thinking about the technology behind the code you right.

If it's not mentioned in earlier courses (again I'm assuming things about your history on Treehouse) it's probably because it's newer to Treehouse than course you may have taken previously.

Hi! Sorry, just a little confused. I just started back end, really wanna know stuff about node.js and what this thing has to do with it and everything. But, thank you so much for the help!

http and node.js are separate topics but it is http that allows JavaScript to be run elsewhere (i.e. not in the browser). It's what allows you program the "back end" in JavaScript which has evolved over the years from purely a front end language.

Yes AJAX uses get and post too. They're request methods provided by HTTP ffor sending information over a web server. :)

Oww.. Okay. So basically, this course is just an additional information about the web. And as that said, it does its work on its own, so we won't worry doing it anymore, am I right?
