what is wrong with my string initiation?

I don't understand why my str method isn't correct

morse.py 
class Letter:
    def __init__(self, pattern=None):
        self.pattern = pattern

    def __str__(self):
        output=[]
        s='-'
        for elements in self.pattern():
            if elements=='.':
                output.append("dot")
            elif elements=='_':
                output.append("dash")
        return s.join(output




class S(Letter):
    def __init__(self):
        pattern = ['.', '.', '.']
        super().__init__(pattern)

You're really close there! I see two issues:

  • the "pattern" is not a method, so it doesn't need parentheses after the name
  • the "return" line seems to be missing a closing parenthesis at the end
