What kind of time should one put in for Front End per week (while working full-time)?

I'm coming back to Treehouse after a several-month hiatus and I want to accomplish my goals of doing some freelance work by next year. I'm starting Front End Development again, while also going for IOS afterward.

I want to know from someone who may work full-time but also code? How do you delegate your time? What kind of goals have you put in place?

Thanks!

Hello Shelton,

I myself am currently working on the Front End Development track! Currently I work full-time (+40 hours) as a Help Desk Specialist and also try to find time to code. Though, most of my "coding" is purely researching; asking questions and finding answers at this time.

Summed up:

  1. Since I've started Treehouse, i haven't once thought of this as school; rather thought of it as my free time spent doing and learning about what I have a passion for. My time delegation isn't really set in stone... I just find enjoyment out of learning /researching all I can about coding so it kind of just...happens! Since i work Help Desk, in between calls while I'm at work I read what I can.

  2. Set a goal to spend at least an hour or 2 on here just going through the lessons and challenges. In all honesty, any progress is better than no progress so even if its just hopping on and doing a few steps /challenges and then hopping off, its better than doing none at all!

If I had one bit of advice for you though, it would be to never stop asking questions and never stop seeking answers to those questions.

I hope that helps or at least gave you a partial answer to your questions! If you want me to elaborate or if you have any other questions, I'd be more than happy to help further!

Cheers man, and Happy Coding!!

Jon
