What Mac do most of the Treehouse teachers use when teaching?

Above. Thanks for answering! :)

I can't speak for the teachers, however, this topic does remind of an article that I read where Ryan Carson (Treehouse CEO) mentioned in an interview that he uses a Chromebook! I thought that was very untraditional given the nature of the company, but hey, if it works it works!

I'm guessing that they use different macs (they don't all use the same computers). I wouldn't worry too much; as you can learn to write code / do design on pretty much any computer.

As you can see on Ryans insta page he is using an Macbook pro (last generation, < 2016) 13 inch as most of the teachers at Treehouse.

Good catch, the article I posted is from 2014. Things have changed :)

@Alan Ayoub: In 2014 being a developer and using a Chromebook is pretty rare because chromeOS supports Linux apps since less than a years. It's like coding on an iPad;) So a Mac makes much more sense for a developer, but isn't necessary today.

Here's a tweet from 2013 I found of Ryan where he specifically calls out switching from a Macbook Air to a Chrome Pixel.

@Alan Ayoub: Ok, this surprises me. Maybe he targets people who are not developers with his tweet. Otherwise I have no idea how to use a Chromebook as a developer.

If I remember right, When Ryan was asked which computer he uses, he said that he knew it was untraditional but he uses a Chromebook. I believe Ryan found the cloud to be a solution for everything and didn't feel a need to work with files locally. At least, that was my takeaway after reading his interview 4 years ago (I believe the interview I am thinking about is a different article from the one I posted here).

That article/interview stuck out in my head because I am an Apple guy with 12 Apple Certifications and that article completely changed my view about how we use machines.

Ryan Carson : How did you use a Chromebook in 2014 as a developer (which tools and languages)?
