What to look for in a laptop

I'm planning on getting a new laptop when I get my paycheck from my job, what should I mainly be looking for in a laptop when its primary purpose will be to code? :)

Coding does not demand a high spec, work to your budget. What I will suggest is something with an HDMI or VGA out port so you can attach a second monitor. Ideal for having a video or tutorial on one screen, and your workspace on the other.
