Hi there, kit prescott ! You're doing terrific! You are literally off by one space. Some parts of CSS are sensitive to whitespace and this is one of those make or break cases. To be clear, this is not just true for this challenge but CSS overall.

You typed:

a :link {

}

But the extraneous space is breaking that rule. That should be:

a:link {  /* note the removal of the space before the colon */

}
