What's that mean? I don't understand all that dot notations. usernameInput.CustomValidation = new CustomValidation();

Well I study a code and I can't understand all these dot notations mean.

function CustomValidation() {
  this.invalidities = [];
  this.validityChecks = [];
}

usernameInput.CustomValidation = new CustomValidation();

I know how to use dot to add or access objects, but this syntax what it means. And I see it a lot. Has a particulary name? I don't provide all the code because it is a little long.
