when to use (practical, real uses) '@media print' ?

Hi community,

This may sound like a little bit of a follow up to another question made by someone else earlier here, but with further curiosity.

Is the @media print really used? In which cases would you design a site or use CSS media queries to printed media?

May be a little bit of a clumsy question but I can't see a scenario nor did I find one in the explanation of MDN with this respect.

Great question. I have used @media print for situations in which I have a page that is designed specifically to be printed out. You might come across this on sites that have articles and have a printer icon associated with the article. On occasion clicking on the printer will open a new tab/window/modal that is formatted specifically for print media.
