where is the error in my syntax? .wildlife { background-image: url('../img/bear.jpg'); }

I don't see where the error is here. I ran it through csslint.net as well just to make sure it wouldn't error.

I think you put wrong directory.In Background-image:url('') just check directory structure.

.wildlife{ background-image:url('img/bear.jpg'); }

Thank you both. That was my problem. I mistakenly thought the stylesheet was in it's own directory.

try deleting

../

put just:

.wildlife { background-image: ('img/bear.jpg'); }

too late :)
