Why am i throwing an error when including String before the method barCount?

removing it fixes the error but why does it show up in the first place?

GoKart.java
class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
  private String color;
  private int barCount;

  private void String barcount(){
   barCount = MAX_BARS;
  }

  public GoKart(String color) {
    this.color = color;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return color;
  }
}

Both "void" and "String" are declarations of return type. Using both is contradictory, like saying "this method returns nothing and it returns a String".

So it's a syntax error to have more than one return type in the declaration.
