Treehouse Moderator 68,441 PointsHey Megan Weber, that's an interesting point. Yes, The "Flask Basics" could have been placed outside of the {% block title %} {% endblock %} in the layout template so it appears everywhere. The downside is would be less flexibility.
With the prescribed setup in the video, by placing the "Flask Basics" within the title block of the layout.html template, the string becomes an optional default. If a page wishes to include "Flask Basics", it includes a super() call to capture what was in the template block before it is overwritten by the page extending layout.html. If a page wishes to ignore the template block contents, simply drop the super() call.
