Your opinion about Treehouse.

Hello everyone! I'm new here, today I started with Front End Web Development. I already know some basic stuff but I wanted to start from scratch and re-establish my knowledge.

For now, I like the way treehouse teaching us. But I want to hear opinions from people who are here longer, let's say at least half a year.

Did you get some good skills in any language? Do you see yourselves to have full time job for maybe another half a year or more?

Thanks to all and happy learning!!!

Hello

Firstly, welcome to Treehouse,

Treehouse had a huge part in my career transition and I can confidently say I would not have done it without them. With a bit of hard work and 3 years later, Treehouse has successfully made me a senior developer. This coupled with answering any questions I am interested in and using some of the other great free online platforms is in my opinion, all you need to have a successful career in tech.

My only counterpoint to that is that Treehouse is very much focused around learning the foundation to intermediate level, which is not a downside as it is more than enough to become a software engineer, but for that bit extra like any sort of current industry standards. design-patterns, principles, architecture/design, etc is where you will need to look somewhere else, mostly available online for free.

I hope this helps, Happy coding!

Great site. Some content could stand to be updated. BUUUUUTTTT, they really need to leave the politics out of things. As a conservative I feel kind of alienated. I also question their motives as well. Really I come here to learn tech, not be virtue signaled at

Couldn't agree more. A programming learning platform is no place for identity politics.
